Ace Gaming celebrates Veterans Day

RAVENSWOOD — Veteran’s Day was celebrated Tuesday with an American Flag cake and red, white and blue drinks.

ACE Gaming Center honored veterans with the cake and by offering a discount for all veterans and families toward all gaming for the day.

Mayor Lucy Harbert was present to help honor the veterans as well as other council members. Amanda Wilson made the cake with the help of BP Super Stop Kitchen.

Wilson said the icing alone was over seven gallons. There were 18 cake mixes and six-dozen eggs.

She said it took eight hours to mold the white chocolate stars that surrounded the cake and six hours to ice the cake by hand.

The wood base for the cake was donated by J Co Lumber and built by Rob Henry. Wilson painted an American Flag on the base in honor of the veterans.

Ivan Scarberry, co-owner of ACE Gaming and a veteran, wanted to do his part to help honor other veterans.
