FISHER RIDGE — Firefighters from the Ripley, Sissonville, and Southern Jackson County Fire Departments responded to a house fire on Fisher Ridge Road near Goldtown on Oct. 8.
The fire broke out Wednesday afternoon. Despite rain earlier that morning, the remoteness of the house’s location made access to water a problem for the firefighters.

Chief Charlie Pierson of the Southern Jackson County VFD reported that there were only two fire hydrants on all of Fisher Ridge Road. Read the full story

RIPLEY – City firefighters responded to a brush fire along New Stone Ridge Road on Oct. 2 at around 9:00 p.m.

Ripley Fire Department Deputy Chief David Brubaker reported that multiple calls had came in Thursday night initially reporting that either the nearby Super 8 Motel or the Tractor Supply Company building had caught fire. Read the full story
